The Handloom I Los Angeles Personal Branding

I’d actually come across The Handloom’s beautiful site a few weeks before I had the opportunity to photography the company’s founder and owner, Cansu. I was completely taken by the beautiful tunics, Turkish towels, and throws, and thought the line was just magical. Then meeting and photographing Cansu (and her adorable beagle) was equally magical. We shot in her bohemian styled house and sweet workspace in Echo Park, and I got to chat with her and learn more about her brand as we shot.   For a glimpse of her space (and some of her beautiful wares in the background), take a peek through the images below.

Williamsburg Seamstress I Los Angeles Brand Photographer

I had the absolute pleasure of spending an afternoon with beautiful Nayantara (aka Tara) in her sweet DTLA studio. Tara is one of those people you feel you’ve known forever. She has an easy breezy air about her and a warmth that makes her feel like an old friend. She hails from the east coast just like me, so we had a grand time talking about NYC and Brooklyn (again felt like old friends…).

Tara specializes in wedding dress tailoring and works with her clients in such a beautifully customized and personal way. She wanted our brand photography session to capture the friendly, welcoming vibe of her studio and wanted some shots of her doing her interacting with the materials in her studio.

Caroline l Los Angeles Brand Portraiture

I got to spend an afternoon with the sublimely talented Caroline Geys in her DTLA loft. Caroline is a multi-media artist and designer, who does everything. Truly. Her paintings are gorgeous and colorful, as are her drawings. She’s also done indoor and outdoor murals for stores and shops in LA including Rebook. She designs and hand paints tee shirts, hoodies and sneakers of which you’ll see her wearing in some of these images. Creativity just pours out of some people…and there’s nothing more fun than being in the presence of all that delicious creativity.

And she has cats that are super models. Fun day indeed.
